            Thengapattinam beach is situated at the distance of 54kms (approx) from Kanyakumari.
The beautiful beach is located in Painkulam village and is adorned with lush coconut grooves. Situated on the west coast, this village has some historical relevance. During the ancient times, the village was an important place for trade with foreign countries. Between Thengapattinam and other countries like Arabia, cargo services were available. The water of the Thamiraparani River forms an estuary in the sea. With boat riding and backwater facilities, the beach serves as an important location for excursions and picnics.
